Domaine de Romefort lies just five minutes from the medieval pilgrimage site of St Leonard de Noblat. This town, as well as Domaine de Romefort, is located on the centuries-old pilgrimage route that runs between St Jacques de Compostella (Spain) and Rome. The origin of the word Romefort comes from “Romaeus” and “fort” - a solid and secure (Roman) place for the protection of pilgrims. It was along many of these pilgrimage routes that “Romeforts” arose.
Domaine de Romefort is situated in the department of Haute Vienne (just above the Dordogne) and is 20 kilometers from the city of Limoges. This is an ideal place for hikers as well as for families who love nature and are looking for a place to hold a family reunion. Domaine de Romefort is an old farm that has been transformed into 11 luxurious cottages.
The swimming pool of more than 100 square meters, built after the summer of 2008, represents the best way to cool off during the warm summers. The complex covers 28 hectares with fields and woods.
The environment is very diverse, green and hilly and the views are simply magnificent. On the east side of Romefort you’ll find an extensive rural area around the Lac de Vassiviere. This lake is 10 square kilometers and provides the opportunity for a number of water sports. The forests in the vicinity are ideal for hiking and mountain biking.
15 minutes away (by car) lies a recreational lake. Here there is a guarded beach and an area with activities. Furthermore, the Vienne River runs along the domaine. This river is suitable for canoes. Along the river you can find many mills that are still in use.
Le Pavot is a charming and spacious accommodation which can accommodate 2-3 persons. This bedroom has three single box spring type beds.

On the ground floor there is also a bathroom with a sink and shower.
On the first floor you’ll find a spacious living room, a kitchen and a separate toilet.
The kitchen is very well equipped including a stove, dishwasher, microwave, separate oven and fridge/freezer.

In the living room there is a TV (Dutch satellite channels), radio and DVD / CD player.

From the sliding doors, which deliver a lot of light into the living room, you can access the balcony with stairs leading to the garden.
